Analytical Chemistry Division (V)

(Established in 1949)

2003 Elections

Elections for Titular Members of the Analytical Chemistry Division will occur early in 2003 as follows:
  • The Division President will appoint five members of a Nominating Committee, to be approved by the IUPAC Executive Committee:
    • No more than two members from the exisiting Division Committee
    • At least three members (including the chair) will be from outside the IUPAC and will be selected on the basis of the breadth of their relevant analytical chemistry experience. 
  • Nominees chosen by the Nominating Committee will:
    • Be scientists from academia, government and industry
    • Will have expertise and experience necessary to maintain a Division Committee with appropriate scientific stature and breadth
    • Ensure the nominees achieve diversity in subject matter, geographic distribution, or other characteristics.
    • The Nominating Committee will seek assistance from relevant National Adhering Organizations to limit the nominees from any NAO to two, in order to help ensure geographic diversity.
    • The Nominating Committee may also establish categories of vacancies (area of expertise) to ensure subject matter diversity.
  • The Election itself will be run by e-mail (and normal mail as needed) ballot by the IUPAC Secretariat
