Inviting Young Chemists to the 42nd IUPAC Congress
Glasgow, UK, 2-7 August 2009

- Apply Now for a Young Chemist Award -

The 42nd IUPAC Congress and 45th IUPAC General Assemby will take place at the UK's Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center (SECC) in August 2009. The theme of the Congress is "Chemistry Solutions." To encourage young chemists to participate in this unique congress, the organisers have established two different ‘Young Chemist Award’ programmes, both offering travel assistance:

• The first (‘Programme A’) is especially targeted at young scientists from developing and economically disadvantaged countries;

• The second (‘Programme B’) is open to chemists from any country.

For each programme respectively, about 30 and 20 awards of between USD 750 and USD 1500 will be made available to successful candidates as a contribution to the cost of their travel to attend the Congress and to meet Congress registration fees.
