Project

Analytical Chemistry Division (V)

Number: 2001-001-2-500

Title: Dimensionality in analytical chemistry

Task Group
Chairman:
Klaus Danzer

Members: J F (Koos) van Staden and Duncan Thorburn Burns

Completion Date: 2002 - Project completed

Objective:
The term "dimensionality" in the form of x-dimensional analytical information, -analytical method, - analytical data, etc. is increasingly used in analytical chemistry without any harmonization in the different branches. Recommendations on the use of the term "dimensionality" is especially needed because the term "-dimensional" is non-uniformly and partly contradictory applied in connection with methods, information and data sets.

Progress:
A draft has been prepared, entitled 'Concepts and applications of the term dimensionality in analytical chemistry'
> 2001-001-2-draft.pdf (pdf file-135KB)

Project completed - IUPAC Technical Report published in Pure Appl. Chem. 74(8), 1479-1487, 2002.
