Current Project

Analytical Chemistry Division (V)

Number: 2002-032-1-500

Title: Solubility data of compounds relevant to mobility of metals in the environment. Metal carbonates (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag, Cd, Hg, Pb)

Series: Solubility Data Series; editor-in-chief: Mark Salomon

Task Group
Chairman:
H. Gamsjger

Members: W. Hummel, E. Königsberger, C. Magalhes and K. Sawada

Objective:
To compile and critically evaluate solubility data of carbonates of the title metals. Thermodynamic properties derived from or at least consistent with these data are needed for the modeling of geochemical and industrial processes.

Description:
See Project 2002-031-1-500 for description.

In addition to this project on metal carbonates, two additional volumes will include compilations and evaluation of the solubility data for:

Progress:
The progress of this project was discussed at the 3rd Annual Meeting of the IUPAC Subcommittee of Solubility and Equilibrium Data, held during the 11th International Symposium on Solubility Phenomena. A draft of this SDS volume is expected to be ready for external review by the end of 2006.

This project was presented at a poster session at the IUPAC Congress/GA July 2005
