Thermodynamic Characterization of High-Temperature
Superconductors in the YttriumBariumCopperOxygen System
IUPAC has approved a new project to develop and
present in tabular, graphical, and analytical form a set of self-consistent
thermodynamic data for two solid solutions and one compound in the yttriumbarium
copperoxygen system, that are superconductors at high temperatures.
The results of this work will provide materials science, chemistry,
and physics data for design and analysis of scientific research, as
well as for practical applications, especially with respect to production
and use of new superconducting materials.
Comments from the chemistry community are welcome
and should be addressed to the project coordinator, Prof. Gennady Voronin,
