'Polyaniline: Recommendations for Preparation of Conducting Polymer and its Colloidal Form' was announced in the last issue as a new project for IUPAC. On October 10th, the entire scientific community focused on this field of materials science, because the 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Alan J. Heeger, Alan G.
